Halloween in the Jay and Sarah house is a whole heap of fun as we love to dress up and obviously eat mountains of treats! Although this year will be a little different with a twist of some delicious and Healthier Halloween party treats.
Yes, you heard right, we are all about celebrating but in these special occasions we tend to over celebrate with way too many sweets. We’ve found the trick to get our kids to eat healthier, in this occasion it’s about making it FUN! And that’s what Halloweens about right? It’s amazing how we can get our kids to eat things they probably wouldn’t usually touch with just a few clever ways to prepare and put things together. So here is how we celebrated Halloween with a small party with some easy and delicious Healthier Halloween treats that are kiddie friendly and are also yummy to indulge in.
Although they are dipped in melted white chocolate it is much healthier than all the sweets that are around at this time. The kiddies will love being kitchen assistant with this chocolate dipping creation.
WITCH FINGER PIZZA
Every kid loves pizza, and finger pizza makes it that little bit yummier! Slice it nice and thin and place a triangle shaped capsicum at the end as a fingernail.
The apple monster is another fun Halloween party treat, you can use halved almonds or mini marshmallows as teeth and a bit of peanut butter or chocolate spread under the teeth to bump up the scariness.
SCARY SNACK HAND
This is a really cool and easy take-home treat. Use a non-latex glove and fill with popcorn and something to resemble fingernails (almonds, raisins) tie off the end and accessorise with a spider ring of some sort.
CARVED PUMPKIN ORANGES
These are a really cute way to have a fruit salad. They look the part and make eating fruit salad so much fun! Cut off the top and spoon out the orange, carve eyes and mouth and fill with fruit salad.
So there you have it a fun way to enjoy Halloween without all the sugar-filled treats. We hope your kiddies enjoy our Healthier Halloween Snack ideas. Be sure to take a pic and tag us @JAYANDSARAHNZ on FB and Insta so we get to see your yummy creations.
